Deposit Policy

Auto Retrofit

1. Purpose of Deposits

Deposits are required to secure bookings, order vehicle-specific parts, allocate workshop time, and cover administrative and preparation costs associated with each installation or service.

By paying a deposit, the customer agrees to this Deposit Policy.


2. Deposit Requirement

Auto Retrofit reserves the right to require a deposit before:

  • Confirming an installation booking
  • Ordering parts or accessories
  • Commencing any custom or special-order work
  • Reserving workshop time

The required deposit amount will be advised at the time of booking.


3. Non-Refundable Deposits

Unless required otherwise under Australian Consumer Law, all deposits are strictly non-refundable once:

  • Vehicle-specific parts have been ordered
  • Workshop time has been reserved
  • Preparation or administrative work has commenced

This includes cancellations due to change of mind, financial reasons, delays from the customer, or finding alternative services elsewhere.


4. Appointment Rescheduling

Customers may request to reschedule their appointment with at least 48 hours’ notice.

  • Deposits may be transferred to one future booking at Auto Retrofit’s discretion
  • Repeated rescheduling may result in forfeiture of the deposit
  • Failure to attend a booking without notice (“No Show”) will result in automatic forfeiture of the deposit

5. Cancellation Policy

If a customer cancels:

More than 48 Hours Before Appointment

  • Deposits may be held as store credit only
  • Cash refunds are not guaranteed and remain at Auto Retrofit’s discretion

Within 48 Hours of Appointment

  • The deposit will be forfeited in full

Same-Day Cancellation or No Show

  • The deposit will be forfeited in full
  • Additional rebooking fees may apply

6. Special Orders and Custom Products

Deposits for special-order, imported, custom-made, or vehicle-specific products are strictly non-refundable once the order has been placed with suppliers.

Auto Retrofit is not responsible for supplier delays, shipping delays, customs processing, or manufacturer changes.


7. Balance Payments

The remaining balance for products or services must be paid in full before vehicle collection or product release unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Auto Retrofit reserves the right to retain possession of the vehicle or goods until payment is completed.


8. Abandoned Vehicles or Unclaimed Goods

Vehicles or products not collected within a reasonable timeframe after completion may incur storage fees and admin fees

Auto Retrofit reserves the right to take further action permitted under Victorian law for abandoned property or unpaid invoices.


9. Refund Exceptions

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law, including rights relating to major failures or consumer guarantees.


10. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Customers agree not to initiate unjustified payment disputes or chargebacks for valid deposits paid under this policy.

Where a chargeback is initiated improperly, Auto Retrofit reserves the right to recover:

  • Outstanding amounts
  • Administrative costs
  • Debt recovery expenses
  • Legal fees where applicable

11. Acceptance of Policy

Payment of a deposit constitutes acceptance of this Deposit Policy.
