1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Auto Retrofit website and the purchase of any goods or services from Auto Retrofit ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing our website, purchasing products, or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Auto Retrofit is an Australian-based business supplying aftermarket automotive components, accessories and related vehicle upgrade solutions. We ship nationwide across Australia.

2. Products & Aftermarket Disclaimer

All products supplied by Auto Retrofit are aftermarket automotive components and accessories designed for OEM-style fitment and plug-and-play installation where applicable.

Non-OEM Status: Products are not genuine original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts unless explicitly stated otherwise.
No Affiliation: Auto Retrofit is an independent retailer. Products and branding are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or authorized by any original vehicle manufacturer (e.g., Toyota, Ford, BMW, Tesla).
Compatibility: All vehicle manufacturer names, logos, and model designations mentioned on our site are used strictly for identification and compatibility purposes.

3. Compatibility, Installation & Technical Requirements

3.1 Customer Compatibility Responsibility

Customers are solely responsible for verifying vehicle compatibility, model year specifications, trim levels, and dash/tailgate configurations prior to placing an order. Auto Retrofit is not liable for incorrect orders placed due to user error or failure to verify vehicle specs.

3.2 Professional Installation Requirement

While some items are designed for plug-and-play fitment, automotive electrical and mechanical modifications carry inherent risk.

Mandatory Professional Fitting: To maintain eligibility for warranty coverage on electrical/mechanical components, installation must be performed by a qualified, licensed Auto Electrician or certified automotive technician.
DIY Risk: If a customer chooses to self-install, they assume all risk. Damage to the product, vehicle wiring, vehicle modules (ECU/BCM), trim, or bodywork resulting from uncertified or improper installation is strictly excluded from warranty coverage.
Installation Costs: Auto Retrofit is not responsible for, nor will we reimburse, any third-party installation, removal, diagnostic, labor, or auto electrician fees under any circumstances, including in the event of a product defect or warranty claim.

3.3 Referral to Third-Party Installers

Any installer recommendations or referrals provided by Auto Retrofit are made solely as a courtesy.

Independent third-party installers operate as separate legal entities and are not employees, agents, or subcontractors of Auto Retrofit.
Auto Retrofit accepts no liability for workmanship, damage, delays, disputes, or pricing associated with third-party installers.

3.4 Vehicle Manufacturer Warranty

Auto Retrofit accepts no responsibility for how the installation or operation of aftermarket components may affect, modify, or void your vehicle’s manufacturer warranty. It is entirely the customer’s responsibility to check with their dealership or vehicle manufacturer prior to installation.

4. Orders, Pricing & Cancellations

4.1 Order Acceptance & Refusal

By placing an order, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and that you are authorized to use the designated payment method. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order at our sole discretion, including but not limited to instances of suspected fraud, pricing errors, stock unavailability, or system glitches.

4.2 Order Changes & Cancellations

Orders are processed rapidly. Requests for changes or cancellations must be submitted immediately in writing to support@autoretrofit.com.au.

Pre-Dispatch Cancellations: If an order cancellation request is accepted prior to dispatch, it may be subject to an administrative processing fee (up to 10%) to cover unrecoverable merchant payment processing fees.
Post-Dispatch: Once dispatched, orders cannot be canceled and must follow our Returns & Exchange policy.

4.3 Pricing & Payments

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase via Shopify Payments, PayPal, or Direct Bank Transfer.

5. Shipping & Delivery

Delivery of goods is subject to our Shipping Policy.

Carriers: Orders are dispatched via Australia Post, StarTrack, or secondary couriers depending on destination and parcel dimensions.
Delivery Estimates: Delivery times provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Auto Retrofit is not liable for transit delays caused by courier networks, weather events, or remote locations.
Risk & Title: Title and risk of loss pass to the customer upon delivery of the parcel by the courier to the designated address.

6. Deposit Policy

Where a deposit is required (e.g., for pre-orders, back-ordered kits, or custom imports), deposits are non-refundable once the order has been processed with our production facility or suppliers, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

7. Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

All returns, exchanges, and warranty requests are governed by our Return and refund policy.

7.1 Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds for change of mind.
Exchanges / Store Credit: At our sole discretion, an exchange or store credit may be granted if requested in writing within 7 calendar days of delivery.
Condition: Items must be completely unused, uninstalled, undamaged, and sealed in their original packaging.
Fees: Approved change-of-mind returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee plus all associated shipping costs.

7.2 Faulty or Incorrect Items

If a product arrives damaged, incorrect, or defective:

Contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photo/video evidence.
If deemed defective under Australian Consumer Law, Auto Retrofit will provide a repair, replacement part, full replacement, or refund (for major failures).
Refunds are not issued for minor faults that can be rectified via repair or component replacement.

8. Warranty Overview

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, products purchased from Auto Retrofit come with a 1-Year Limited Warranty covering manufacturing defects and internal hardware failures under normal operating conditions.

Warranty Exclusions Include:

Incorrect or uncertified installation.
Installation damage, wiring shorts, reverse polarity, or water ingress.
Misuse, negligence, accidental damage, or unauthorized modifications.
Normal wear and tear or cosmetic aging.
Third-party labor, diagnostic, or removal costs.

9. Limitation of Liability

Indirect Loss: Auto Retrofit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages, including loss of vehicle use, alternative transportation costs, loss of profits, commercial loss, or vehicle damage arising out of or in connection with our products or services.
Cap on Liability: In any event, Auto Retrofit’s total aggregate liability shall be strictly limited to the actual purchase price paid by the customer for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
Statutory Guarantees: Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights or guarantees guaranteed by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be lawfully excluded.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website—including text, graphic design, branding, product images, code, and layout—is the exclusive intellectual property of Auto Retrofit. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is strictly prohibited.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. Amendments take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of the website or purchase of products following an update constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
