3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your product arrives damaged, incorrect, or develops a defect under normal use, please contact us immediately. You are entitled to statutory remedies under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Depending on the nature of the issue (minor vs. major failure under the ACL), Auto Retrofit will provide one of the following remedies:

  • Product repair or replacement parts

  • Case-by-Case Review: All claims are reviewed in accordance with ACL requirements.

1. Aftermarket Nature & Professional Installation Requirement

Our products are aftermarket automotive components designed to enhance vehicle functionality. To maintain eligibility for warranty coverage on any Auto Retrofit product, installation must be performed by a qualified and licensed Auto Electrician or certified automotive professional.

2. Damage Caused by Improper Installation

Auto Retrofit accepts no liability or responsibility for product failure, operational malfunction, or damage caused—directly or indirectly—by improper, negligent, or uncertified installation. Any damage to the product, original vehicle wiring, vehicle computer system (ECU/BCM), electronic modules, or bodywork resulting from incorrect fitting or unauthorized modification is strictly excluded from warranty coverage.

3. Vehicle Manufacturer Warranty Disclaimer

Auto Retrofit takes no responsibility or liability for how the installation or operation of aftermarket components may affect, modify, or void your vehicle’s manufacturer warranty or third-party warranty policies. It is entirely the customer’s responsibility to seek advice and written confirmation from their authorized vehicle dealership or vehicle manufacturer prior to purchasing or installing any aftermarket component.

4. Statutory Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantees, rights, or remedies guaranteed to you by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be excluded by contract.
